Let’s pick up a million bags of litter together!

The Municipality of Kittilä has joined Yle’s national ‘Miljoona roskapussia’ (Million bags of litter) campaign.

During the campaign from 13 April to 14 June 2023, everyone is encouraged to pick up litter alone or together with other people. Various municipalities and other organisations and communities in different parts of Finland are participating in the campaign. This important campaign is also a light-hearted contest between Finnish municipalities.

How can I take part in the campaign?

It is easy to participate:

  1. Go outside – alone or with other people.
  2. Pick up litter in your area.
  3. Go to the campaign webpage at yle.fi/miljoonaroskapussia(external link) (only in Finnish) and enter the number of bags in the counter under the municipality where you picked up the litter.
  4. Challenge your friends to participate!
