Administration and decision-making

According to the municipality's administrative rules, the management of the municipality is based on the municipal strategy, financial plan, budget and other decisions of the council.

The council is responsible for the operation and finances of the municipality, exercises the municipality's decision-making power and transfers its authority with the provisions of the administrative regulation. The municipal government is responsible for the preparation, implementation and monitoring of the legality of the council's decisions. The municipal government manages the operation, administration and finances of the municipality. The boards are institutions under the government. In organizing the administration and operations of Kittilä Municipality, as well as in the decision-making and meeting procedures, the provisions of the Kittilä Administrative Code are followed, unless otherwise provided by law. 

The administration of Kittilä municipality is located in the municipal hall in the Kittilä church village, address Valtatie 15. Administrative services, civil service, social and health service, technical service and economic service are served at the municipal hall. The council meeting room of the municipal council and the meeting rooms of the municipal board are on the second floor of the Kittilä municipality building.

The municipal manager, mayor, under the authority of the municipal board, leads the municipality's administration, official organization, housekeeping and other activities. The municipality's industries are managed by industry managers.
