The International House Tunturi-Lappi and Pello project develops information, advice, and guidance services for international job seekers, employees, and entrepreneurs in the Tunturi-Lappi and Pello employment area.
The goal of the project is to make service paths clearer, strengthen cooperation between different actors, and support international talents in settling in, finding jobs, and starting businesses in the region.
The project builds and tests a local International House service model. This model brings together services from different organizations in one place (a “one-stop shop”). It also takes into account the special features of the region, such as long distances, a sparsely populated area, and differences between local economies.
What is done in the project?
During the project:
- an International House service model is developed for the Tunturi-Lappi and Pello area
- virtual guidance services and mobile POP-UP service points are tested in different municipalities
- cooperation is strengthened between municipalities, employment services, authorities, employers, and other partners
- feedback is collected from customers and stakeholders to improve the services
- materials and a guide to support employment and entrepreneurship are produced
Target groups
The project focuses on:
- international job seekers, immigrants, and seasonal workers
- international entrepreneurs
- employers and other stakeholders in the region
Project status
The project started in early January 2026. At the beginning, the focus is on getting to know the actors and services, building a shared understanding of the situation, creating cooperation networks, and planning future pilot activities.
The work is done in close cooperation with municipalities, employment services, authorities, employers, and other partners in the region.
