The Municipality of Kittilä maintains four playgrounds in the municipality, and you’ll also find play equipment in daycare and school yards. The park service is responsible for safety measures in the playgrounds. Play equipment is checked thoroughly on a yearly basis, and their condition is monitored weekly during the summer. Any issues are fixed as soon as possible, depending on the urgency of the repair.
Note that playgrounds are not maintained in winter. You can get more information about playgrounds by contacting the technical department, the maintenance supervisor (040 086 2532), or the horticulturist (040 825 1113).
Do not break equipment, litter, or make messes in the playground areas. Give feedback or submit an incident report related to parks and green areas through the feedback channel.
Playgrounds and parks maintained by Kittilä Municipality
Playgrounds maintained by Kittilä Municipality are located in Kittilä Village and Sirkka Village. There are also play areas in the daycare and school yards.
Lukkarintie Playground (Lukkarintie 6, 99100 Kittilä) has a double swing (baby swing and wooden swing), two spring rockers, and a play tower that is meant for kids over 3. There is also a smaller play tower for kids aged 1-3, as well as a sandbox with toys, two park benches, and a waste bin.

Pakattiojantie Playground (Pakattiojantie 1, 99100 Kittilä) is located next to Kittilä’s Local Heritage Museum. It has a play tower for kids over 3, a spring rocker, and a double swing. The swing has a baby swing and a round swing seat. In addition, you’ll find a table and benches, as well as a waste bin.
Aholanperä Playground (Aholanperäntie, 99100 Kittilä) has a saucer swing, a small play tower for kids aged 1-3, and a climbing frame for kids over 3. There is also a carousel-type swing for two, a spring rocker, a lean-to, a waste bin, benches, and a bike rack.

Akanrova Playground (Hillakaari, Akaronva pedestrian crossing, 99130 Sirkka) has a balancing track, two spring rockers, play towers for bigger and smaller kids, and a double swing (wooden swing and saucer swing). You’ll also find a table and benches.
Play areas on daycare and school grounds
Play areas on daycare and school grounds are meant for daycare and school groups during daycare/school hours. They are free to use during other times, such as in the evenings and on weekends and holidays.
Muksula Daycare (Havutie 2, 99100 Kittilä) has swings, a seesaw, a slide, and a sandbox, as well as a climbing frame for smaller kids. The area is divided into two sections with a fence, one side for smaller kids, one side for older kids.
Pikkumettä Daycare (Havutie 4, 99100 Kittilä) has a lot of play equipment available. There is, for example, a spider swing, a large climbing frame, a sandbox, slides, and swings for babies and older kids. There is also a brand-new playhouse, a balancing structure, and a ball wall.

Oravanpesä Daycare (Ounasjoentie 23, 99130 Sirkka) has swings, a sandbox, swing rockers, a climbing frame for kids aged 3-7, and a play tower for kids aged 0-3.
Mänytmaja Daycare (Levin ympärystie 1, 99130 Sirkka) has play equipment for kids aged 0-7, such as a play tower, swings, swing rockers, and a seesaw.
Mäntymaja Daycare, Tittari group in Köngäs (Siimeksentie 19, 99140 Köngäs) is on the grounds of the old school in Köngäs. It has a swing, a small climbing frame, a playhouse, and a bouncy swing.
In the yard of Kittilä’s Lukkari School, (Valtatie 7 A, 99100 Kittilä), there are swings and an outdoor fitness center meant for both kids and adults. In the yard of the upper school, you’ll find a balancing beam, bars, and tables and benches.
In the yard of Sirkka School (Ounasjoentie 23, 99130 Sirkka), there is a fairly new and diverse set of play equipment. You’ll find both regular and spider swings, a balancing beam, a play tower, and a climbing frame. There is also a football field.
In the yard of Alakylä School (Rovaniementie 3491, 97470 Alakylä), there is a fairly new and diverse set of play equipment. You’ll find regular swings, a balancing beam, a climbing frame, and a carousel.
In the yard of Kaukonen School (Kylätie 46, 99110 Kaukonen), you’ll find a spider swing and wooden swings, a climbing frame, a pullup bar, Frisbee golf baskets, a bench and table set, a football field, and an ice rink during winter months.
In the yard of Raattama School (Ounasjoentie 5463, 99340 Raattama), you’ll find a climbing frame, a slide, a small carousel, different kinds of swings for big and small kids, and a sandbox.

There are also other play areas located in Kittilä that are maintained by other organizations.
Parish Church Park (Valtatie 93, 99100 Kittilä)
Kittilä Parish maintains the Church Park, which has a diverse set of equipment for kids, such as swings, climbing frames, slides, a sandbox, carousels, and swing rockers. There are also tables and benches.

Pikku Kotka Playground in Kiistala Village (Kiistalantie 3500, 99250 Kiistala)
You’ll find swings (spider, regular, and baby), a climbing frame, a sandbox, and a slide. This playground is maintained by Kiistalan Kyläyhdistys ry and Kiistalan Nuorisoseura ry. It is not maintained during winter.
Activity Park Levi (Gondolitie 1, 99130 Sirkka)
Levi’s Activity Park (maintained by Levi Ski Resort) in Sirkka has a children’s traffic park that is free for kids under 12. In the playground next to it, there are many swings and slides. There is also a pump track for bikes, a skate park, and a trampoline park. In the nearby field, you can play football, basketball, or floor hockey. The glass hut with a gas grill is free to use when the Activity Park is open (summer-fall). Read more here
Levi Adventure Park (Gondolitie 1, 99130 Sirkka)
Levi Adventure Park provides action-packed thrills for kids and adults of all ages. The park has an entrance fee. For more information, visit their website. The park is also maintained by Levi Ski Resort.
