The Municipal Council, which includes 27 councilors, has the highest decision-making authority in the Municipality of Kittilä. The councilors and their deputies are elected in municipal elections held every four years. The Municipal Board is responsible for administrative and financial matters, as well as for the preparation, implementation, and legality of the council’s decisions.
