The mayor is ultimately responsible for the municipality’s communications matters as a whole, and communications staff serve as designated website editors for the kittila.fi website.

The information is continuously kept up to date. Kittilä Municipality uses social media channels for relaying current information and igniting conversations about events and current affairs. Social media offers a discussion platform for municipal residents and those interested in Kittilä.
The Municipality’s social media channels work in tandem with its main website. It is important to remember that these channels are not the municipality’s official information channels. The municipality’s social media channels are not official advertising spaces and for that reason do not include all of the municipality’s notices or updates. Official government matters cannot be handled through social media. Documents and other requests must be made in written form by letter, email, or by phone. These channels are also not meant for answering official questions; these matters must be handled by mail, email, or phone.
Our social media administrators monitor discussions whenever possible, but posts cannot be reviewed in advance. Inappropriate content, including, for example, posts containing the names of other individuals, may be removed after the fact. Authors are not notified when their posts are removed.
