The Municipality of Kittilä uses the same typography, color schemes, and logos across all content. The municipality’s visual guidelines facilitate the use of these guidelines for various communication purposes and provide the necessary tools for doing so. They help to ensure that the visual identity remains consistent and well-managed. All departments in the municipality use these guidelines in their materials. Together, the graphic design, logo, and coat of arms make up the municipality’s distinctive and official visual identity.

More about the municipality’s visual identity

Kittilä Municipality’s visual identity is based on the colorful “Seasons of the Wolverine” theme created for the municipality’s 150th anniversary in 2018. Guidelines regarding the use of this visual identity were established for municipal staff and those producing graphic materials for the municipality.

The Municipal Council of Kittilä decided to continue using this identity based on positive feedback from residents and a recommendation from the anniversary committee. It was decided that the “Seasons of the Wolverine” theme and its accompanying wolverine logo would become the municipality’s new visual identity. The yellow wolverine logo, which incorporates Kittilä’s vision, “Kittilä – Pure Gold”, is used alongside the municipality’s coat of arms.

Please contact the municipality’s communications department regarding the application of these guidelines and use of materials.

“Seasons of the Wolverine” theme

Jukka Puljujärvi, whose roots are in Kittiilä’s northern village of Pulju, designed the “Seasons of the Wolverine” theme. The logo, which is open to interpretation, pays homage to the municipality’s coat of arms and spirit animal, the wolverine. In its abstract form, you can see the silhouette of a wolverine, a fell’s summit, a gem-like boulder, the diversity of nature and eight seasons, or even the municipality’s unique terrain and connection between its villages.
