Visit the log houses of Vaaranmikkola homestead area and check out the local peasant artifacts!

Vaaranmikkola, Kittilä’s Local Heritage Museum, is located in Pakatti, about 4 km from Kittilä village, in a scenic location on the Ounasjoki River. The museum has collected almost 1000 local peasant artifacts from the early-1900s that are on display. The museum area is made up of old buildings arranged in the ‘Rear Bothnia’-Lappish style. The main building was built in the 1860s, and located on the opposite side of it is the barn. The other buildings – a stable, warehouse, granary, smoke sauna, outhouse, and storage hut on a stump – are located on the property as well.

You can find a virtual tour and online escape room games on the Vaaranmikkola Local Heritage Museum website: www.vaaranmikkola.fi (in Finnish)

You’ll also find current information about different upcoming events. We warmly welcome you to virtually visit the museum and play the escape games!

The museum and escape games are open during the summer.
