When your job ends

Register as a job seeker when:
  • your job ends
  • your job will end in about 1 month
  • you work part-time (for example, less than 30 hours per week)
  • you are laid off
  • you want to join a Finnish language course

 
What to do:
 
  1. Register as a job seeker in the Job Market Finland service:
If you cannot register online, contact your local employment services immediately.

  1. An employment services specialist will contact you within 10 days.
 
Register as an unemployed job seeker at the latest on your first day of unemployment.
You can get unemployment benefits only from the day you register.
You can also register before your unemployment or lay-off starts.
