The Municipality of Kittilä is currently preparing a Wellbeing Plan for Children and Young People for the years 2026-2029. The aim of the plan is to promote the wellbeing of children, young people and families in Kittilä, and to strengthen a safe and pleasant environment for growing up.
The plan includes key development areas identified on the basis of information related to the wellbeing of children, young people and families. Specific objectives have been set for each development area, and the next step is to plan concrete actions through which these objectives can be achieved in cooperation with different stakeholders.
The experiences and views of children and young people themselves are an important part of the planning process. During the autumn, children in pre-primary and basic education, as well as upper secondary and vocational students, will be involved in the process through a survey. For younger respondents, the survey will be conducted through interviews or under teacher guidance, while older respondents will complete an online survey independently.
The views of parents and guardians are also important. Through a survey aimed at parents and guardians, participants can share their opinions and wishes regarding the environment in which children and young people grow up, as well as suggest ideas and measures that could support the wellbeing of children, young people and families.
The survey is open until 20 September at: https://link.webropol.com/s/kittilachildrenandyouthwellbeingplanparents26
