Cultural services create a space for experiencing art and culture in many ways

Kittilä Municipality’s cultural services promote the making and practicing of art, the accessibility of culture, and the preservation of cultural heritage. Cultural services organize a diverse range of cultural events year-round, both alone and in cooperation with other cultural actors/organizations, and is responsible for the Local Heritage Museum Vaaranmikkola and Kino Yläri Movie Theater.

Gallery

The gallery space in the temporary library can be used to display small-scale works free of charge. Please call 040 728 5733 to reserve the space for the work you want to put on display. 

Internet

There are two desktop computers for public use in the temporary library, however the 6 Hublet-tablets are not working yet. You can also use the library’s scanning services. Internet use is free, printing and copying can be done for a fee. The library also has Wi-Fi. 

If you do not return your loans by the due date, the library will send you two reminders that are subject to a fee.

• First reminder, 2 euros
• Second reminder, 3 euros
• Invoice

The fee for a loan that has been reserved but not picked up is 2€.

You can get a library card when starting the first grade. The first library card is free of charge, renewal costs 3 euros. 

The same card can be used at the Main Library, the Mobile Library, and all other libraries in Lapland that are part of the Lapland Library network. You must always show your library card when reserving materials. 

Please always let the library know if your address changes.
